Daddy went to the Pats game this weekend, so Isla and I headed to RI to stay with Grandma and Poppi and watch the game. As it turned out, one of my oldest friends – Jen Place – was also in town with her daughter!
My mom and Jen’s mom have been best friends for 30+ years and Jen and I have been friends my whole life. Our families were very close and Jen is in all of my earliest memories. Jen had a daughter, Stevie, back in June. They live in New Jersey so we don’t get to see them very much – but whenever we do it is like so much time did not go by. It was very special to finally introduce our daughters. It was so fun for our moms to be there as well. I see many mother-daughter plans in our future! We are already planning a beach day this summer. I wish they lived closer so we could see them more!
My grandma’s aunt, Ma Tante Simone, turned 100 a few days after Christmas! While we were in RI we also went to visit her in her nursing home. This was another very special meeting because there were 5 generations present! We realized that Ma Tante is Isla’s Great, Great, Great Aunt. I think Isla brightened Ma Tante’s day. I was so happy that they were able to meet.
